We are sad to announce that on October 22, 2023, at the age of 76, Russell Harvey Gilbert Jr. (Gays Mills, Wisconsin) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorraine McGuire Gilbert and Russell Harvey Gilbert Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia McKenna; his granddaughter Faye (John); his children, Ethan Russell, Annika Lodore and Phoebe (Chris); his grandchildren, Elias Luken and Lillian Lorraine; his daughter Martha (Andrew); his grandchildren, Nova Steelbright, Escher James and Loka Bones; and his siblings, Donna Gilbert Kaiser (Jimmy Kaiser), Debora Gilbert Santos (Victor Santos), Richard Gilbert (Dianne Gilbert) and Brian Gilbert. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, family are welcome to donate to a scholarship fund in Russell's name or to donate to the Kickapoo Cultural Exchange.

“Mr. G was one my best teachers. He made learning fun. He pushed me to do better and saw my potential, and brought it out of me. It meant a lot to me that I did so well in Science Olympiad at state. I have many fond memories. All the way back in first grade of him walking around with a cheese box Halloween costume saying"The big Cheese" to sage life advice "life's not fair".
