He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Nickerson and Chloris Nickerson (Meyer); and his grandparents, Stan, Mary Nickerson, Fred and Nellie Meyer.
He is survived by: his former wife Linda Wachal; his wife Connie Nickerson (Whitaker) of Friendship, Wisconsin; his children, Jodi Voelker (James) of Rosemount and Jon Nickerson (Terra) of Little Elm, Texas; his grandson Tyler Voelker; his siblings, Yvonne Noorlun (Lowell) of Truman, Brian Nickerson (Karen) of Truman and Brad Nickerson (Deb) of Truman; his nephew Jason Nickerson (Marlena); his nieces, Amber Nickerson and Amanda Martinez (Alex); and his pet Charlie. He is also survived by daughter, Journey; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
