He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Van Kraanen and Betty Van Kraanen (Smith); his grandparents, Anton J. Van Kraanen and Clara Van Kraanen (Colson); his former wife Judith Thomas (Dutcher); and his grandsons, Walter Van Kraanen and Austin Van Kraanen.
He is survived by: his former wives, Mary Shepherd (Doris Smith) of Tucson and Connie Van Kraanen of Janesville; his spouse Dale Van Kraanen (Betty) of Tucson, Arizona; his former wife Theresa Van Kraanen; his stepdaughter Christine Hermanson (Allen) of Janesville, Wisconsin; and his half-siblings, Duane Van Kraanen (Sopheap) of Stoughton, Wisconsin, Carol McCarthy of Janesville, Wisconsin and Cindy Schafer (Bill) of Janesville, Wisconsin. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
