Michael John Hooyman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael John Hooyman of Freedom, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 29, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hooyman and Gladys Hooyman (Little); his siblings, Catherine "Kitty" Stevens (Shaw), Cathy Sloan (John), Donald Hooyman Sr. and Patricia Kramer (Ray); his siblings-in-law, Dale Borneman, Dick Graphos and Gerry De Groot; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Mabel De Groot.
He is survived by: his wife Carol De Groot; his daughters, Kelly Rickert (Jeff), New London and Michelle "Missy" Angotti (Dan); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wilfuer (Matt), Joseph Rickert (Erinn) and Danielle; his great grandchild Waylon; his granddaughters, Samantha Angotti (Nick Benedetto) and Grace Angotti (Lane Krueger); his great grandchildren, Jaxon Benedetto and Jack Wilfuer; his sister Bonnie Bryant (Johnny); and his siblings-in-law, Jean Graphos, Larry De Groot (Nancy), Joan Vandenberg (David "Cricket") and Carol Hooyman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home - Freedom (N3972 Columbia Ave, Freedom, WI 54130). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home (N3972 Columbia Ave, Freedom, WI 54130).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mike's name.
