He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Shilka and Peter Shilka; his parent-in-law Henry Wanserski; his sister-in-law Elaine Aschenbrener; and also Pauline Wanserski.
He is survived by: his spouse Marie; his children, Sandra Verhasselt (Mark), Eric Shilka (Oscar Espinoza) and Jenny Shilka-Schuh; his grandchildren, Stephanie Roffers (Brian), Ashley, Kyle, Adam Verhasselt, Mekaila, Alaina and Isley Schuh; his aunt MaryAnn Zimmerman (Ray); and his niece Carla Soczka (Clarence). He is also survived by many cousins; brother/sisters-in-law's: Don & Judy Wanserski, Joe & Judy Wanserski, Virginia & Paul Gottschalk, Henry & Cindy Wanserski, Jim & Linda Wanserski, Carol & Al Drechsler, David & Lorri Wanserski, and Ann & Steve Robison; and numerous nieces/nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
