He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas R. Schmidt and Mary Ann C. Schmidt (Rutten); his brother Brian Schmidt; and his nephew James Schmidt. He is survived by: his children, Darrel Schmidt (Krystal), Rebecca Green (Trey), Brandon Schmidt (Heidi), Brad Schmidt (Krista Bouck) and Nathaniel Tapelt (Alena); his grandchildren, Harmony, Zahriah, Brelyn, Harper, Amara, Avery, Cooper, Jaden, Leylah, Sierra and Trelisha; and his great grandchild Kayden. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bruce's name.
