She was predeceased by: her husband Loren Nelson; her parents, Leslie Formell and Bertha Formell; her stepfather Wallace Winegar; and her siblings, Alice Drew, Lois Dye and Leslie Formell, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Craig (Mary Jo), Mark (Laurie) and Valerie Sommer (Fred); her grandchildren, Katie Schmidt (Cory), Meredith Uram (Nick), Anders Nelson (Mark Hemberger), Steven Sommer (Kaylee) and Christopher Sommer (Katie); her great grandchildren, Grace Schmidt, Brooks Uram and Nash Uram; her sister Joan Kalbacken; and her sister-in-law Marlys Formell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cushing or Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, TX.
