He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Welch and Dorothy Welch; his parents-in-law, Norman and Elaine Hansen; his brother Bob Welch; his siblings-in-law, Wally Polston, Norbert Bankenbush and Peter Hansen; and his niece Vicki Lynn Bankenbush.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Hansen; his sons, Neil and Chris; his grandchildren, Alex Leigh, Jordan, Spencer, Nathan and David; his great grandchildren, Easton, Corbin, Blake, Benny and Haylen; his siblings, Lily Bankenbush, Frank Welch (Sharon), Pam Rakauskas (Marty), Debra Correll and Mark Welch (Janice); and his siblings-in-law, Barb Welch, Donna Polston, Nancy Hansen, Peggy Svoboda (Chuck) and Dan Hansen (Peggy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers and plants a memorial will be established.
