He is survived by: his daughter Christine Kelch; his sister Joan Spilka; his sons, Daniel and Michael; his grandchildren, Heather, Nathaniel Smith, Megan Fritz, Shawn Kelch, Michael and Jason Spilka; and his nieces and nephews, Diane Bielinski, Susan, Alexander Sosnowski (Karen) and Walter Jr..
