He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Tabbert and Esther Tabbert (Johnson); his siblings, Gregory, Keith, Roger and Ann; his former wife Lorraine; his brothers-in-law, Bob, Dick, Ron Pretasky and Howard Amundson; his nephew John; and his granddaughters, Anna and Amy.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia of Holmen; his children, Jeff (Joyce) of Brandon, SD, Jim (Cheryl) of Iron River, Jerry (Mary) of Galesville, Pete (Melanie) of Ettrick, Jo Bistodeau (Michael) of Onalaska and Jen Anderson (Greg) of Ashland; his sister Mary Larson (John) of Onalaska; his sisters-in-law, Susan Keselburg (Jim), Shirley, Pat and Alice Pretasky; and his stepchildren, Carolyn Gunderson (Jim), Ron Granley (Marcia), Lori Jenkins and Jennifer Lindbeck Hill (Anthony). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 43 ¾ great grandchildren; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials may be sent in his name to the National Forest Foundation.
