He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Grossell and Catherine Grossell (Hedberg); his parents-in-law, Albert and Kathryn Stanek; and his cousin Rebecca Baertsch.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Stanek; his children, Travis Grossell (Jenni) and Alicia Ames (Kris); his grandchildren, Dustin, Levi (Bruiser), Addison (Sassy) and Mattis; his pet Rena (Sissy); his sister Jackie McFarlin (Bruce); his parents-in-law, Sue Katula (Tony) and Gary Stanek (Lori); and his nephew Jeremy. He is also survived by other relatives, and many friends and business partners.
