He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Pinkston; his brothers, James Pinkston, Charles Pinkston and Bill Pinkston; and his grandson Jacob Cohoon.

He is survived by: his children, Kelly Pinkston Hill, Shanna Justice, Kristy Dills and Brad Pyle. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
