He was predeceased by: his parents, David Mahlke and Jacqueline Mahlke (Harbrecht); and his niece Jennifer. He is survived by: his children, Katie Techel (Bryan) of Annandale and David Mahlke III (Angie) of Lewiston; his grandchildren, Samantha, Hunter Techel, Spencer, Ashton and Jillian Mahlke; his siblings, Tom Mahlke (Julie) of Roswell, Georgia and Jane Olsen (Craig) of Amery, WI; his nephew Robert; and his nieces, Sophia and Lilli.

Memorials are preferred to the National Wild Turkey Federation or Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
