He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Chesmore and Dorothy Chesmore (Steinmetz); and his wife Jeanne Ebert. He is survived by: his children, Kyle Chesmore and Bryan Chesmore; his stepchildren, Melissa Theodros, Dustin O'Connor and Ashley Kelleher; his grandchildren, Rozalyn, Rayne and Porter; his girlfriend Melissa Hill; his siblings, Richard Chesmore (Sharon), John Chesmore, Mary Dampier (Butch), Betsy Courtney (Tom), Patti Vandre, Vicki Renz (Duane) and Cynsee DeRemer (Brad); his stepgrandchildren, Kaydence, James, Ethan, Elsa, Eden, Emme, Evelyn, Maisie and Alaina; the mother of his children Joan Chesmore; and his stepchild Deb Rogers-Chesmore.
