He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Borchardt and Lenora C. Borchardt (Weihert); his son Gerald; and his brother Leroy. He is survived by: his wife Alice M. Erdman; his children, Janice Orton (John), Steve Borchardt (Marilyn) and Laurie Linberts (Steve); his daughter-in-law Sheila Borchardt; and his grandchildren, Lenora, Melissa Borchardt, Paul Streib (Dawn), Jon Streib (Judith), Nathan Borchardt (Trisha), Adam Borchardt (Rebekah), Stephanie Hulberg (Cody), Jessica Vander Zanden (Patrick) and Alyssa Monk (James). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the family which will be distributed amongst the church and various veterans' organizations.
