He was predeceased by: his parents, Pastor Arthur and Ida Gentz. He is survived by: his wife Marlene "Muff" Kosin of Fort Atkinson; and his sister Gloria Schumacher of Milwaukee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Grant's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.
