David William Grant Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David William Grant, age 58, of Fort Atkinson, WI who passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at home.
David was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 26, 1957, the third child (of nine) of James R. and Christine B. (Garbrecht) Grant. The family moved several times during his childhood, ending up in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, where he graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1975. He met Louise Bloomer while self-employed in the Fox Valley area, and they were married in Appleton, Wisconsin in June of 1980. He attended UW-Madison, and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1984. After graduation, David first worked for Kimberly Clark Company (Neenah, WI), then Dartco Mfg. (Augusta, GA), Globe Industries (Chicago, IL), and Atlas Powder (Joplin, MO), followed by several other firms. David eventually returned to school, earning a Master’s degree in Business Administration (University of Phoenix). After graduating, he worked creating professional websites to provide business consulting. In the midst of all of that, in December of 2009 David married Ema Akhundova (Azerbaijan). He was a faithful husband, and a caring father.
David will be missed and is survived by his wife, Ema Grant-Akhundova of Madison, WI; his mother, Christine B Grant of Fort Atkinson, WI; daughter Karmen (Marcus) Porter of Hays, KS; daughter Danielle Grant of Appleton, WI; son Elijah Grant of Appleton, WI; and daughter Grace Grant of Appleton, WI; Step-Son: Tim Seyidov of Madison, WI; two Grandchildren, Rebekah Porter and Elijah Pekel. He is also survived by brothers Kenneth (Debra) Grant, Steven Grant, Michael (Jessica) Grant, Geoffrey (Jennifer) Grant, and Andrew (Carol) Grant; sisters Judith (Christopher) Montony, Elizabeth (Ronald) Albanese, and Angela (Mark) Janssen. He is additionally survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his father James R. Grant.
