It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois M. Schmitz of Forestville, Wisconsin, born in Algoma, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 29, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Heidmann and Isabelle Heidmann (Fenske); her sisters, Carole Storm (Bob) and Vivian Heidmann; her granddaughter Katie Dufek; and her parents-in-law, Angela Schmelzer (Roy), Doris Chaudoir (Bernie), Ione Payette, Sr. (Oscar), Jane Francis, George Schmitz Jr. (Dorothy) and Ray Chike.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Schmitz, Laurie Dufek, Phil Schmitz (Ann), Sue Schmitz (Galen DeNamur), Maureen Bartley (Jay), Tim Schmitz and Paula Battermann (Dave); her grandchildren, Carrie Nellis (Craig), Melissa VanEss (Mike), Matt Dufek (Michelle) and Lucy Tousignant (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Clay, Grace, Callie and Clint Nellis; her grandchildren, Katelyn, Kiana, Cael VanEss, Liam and Bentley Dufek; and her sister-in-law Marlene Chike.
