She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward J. Schmitz and Marcella C. Loehr Schmitz; and her son Gavin MacLeod. She is survived by: her husband Tom Riel of Fond du Lac; her children, Anna MacLeod (Henry Cabrera) of Fond du Lac, Christel Stanfield (James) of Forestville, NY, Danny Riel of Oklahoma, Christina Taylor (Bill) of Arkansas, Cindy Brewer (Tony) of Arkansas and Cody Riel of Fond du Lac; her brother Norman Schmitz (Pat) of West Bend; and her close friend James Frederick (Jenn) of Fond du Lac. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
