The memory of Peter L. Wettstein of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 24, 2025 at the age of 73, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Wettstein and Lois Wettstein (Monroe); his siblings, Steve Wettstein and Gail Hupfer; his father-in-law Ralph Wendels; his siblings-in-law, John Wendels, Ann Hupfer and Mary Ellen Wendels; and his niece Meagan Klapperich.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Wendels; his mother-in-law Mary Wendels; his siblings-in-law, Joseph Wendels (Mary Jo), Greg Hupfer, Tom Reader (Judy), James Wendels (JoAnn), Judy Strozeski, Beth Wendels and Ann Reader (Linda); and his grandchildren, MaryElla, Sage, Jackson, Jasper, Ethan and Dylan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (271 Fourth St Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54937). A Mass was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
After receiving a deep brain stimulation implant to combat his Parkinson's some years ago, Pete met with others considering the surgery to hear their concerns and share his experience.
