He is survived by: his significant other Joan Rait; his children, Gary Schmidt, Christine Breister (Brian) and Sherri Bucher (Jeff); his brothers, John Schmidt and Dennis "Mike" Schmidt; and his grandchildren, Brian Skupas, Tyler Skupas, Makenna Schmidt, Tori Misudek (Mark), Emily Brookover (Brian), Megan Jones (Spencer) and Katie Bucher (Dillon). He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
