He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Gerrits and Petronella Gerrits (Van Vreede); his wife Edith Voigt; and his granddaughters, Annabelle McCauley and Sara Gerrits.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Kolstad, Paul Gerrits (Karen), Donna, David McCauley and Robert Gerrits (Kelly). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
