With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joel Arthur Blahnik of Fish Creek, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 29, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Patrick Blahnik and Viola Alma Blahnik (Seeman); his wife Mary Ann Jarman; his parents-in-law, Glen and Leora Jarman; his nephew Matthew Blahnik; and his siblings-in-law, Glenn "Ed" Jarman, Russell "Skip" Kaeske and Dr. Betty Adelson (Russ).

He is survived by: his children, Jon Blahnik (Christianna) of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Betsy Kuhn (Matt) of Hilbert, WI and Jennifer Blahnik (Robert Hawley) of Baileys Harbor, WI; his grandchildren, Connor (April), Makaylee, Cadence, Jackson (Harlow) and Madeline; his brother Jim Blahnik (Judi) of Egg Harbor, WI; his sister-in-law Sue Kaeske of Fish Creek, WI; and his nieces, Chelsea Mittermann (Nick), Marne Kaeske, Kendra Adelson and Dr. Danen Adelson (Phil Whitsett).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the family at 9171 Spring Road, Fish Creek WI 54212 for the establishment of a music scholarship fund in Joel's name.

“For the Wisconsin Czechs, Inc. I extend deepest sympathies to the family of Joel Blahnik, at his passing. Joel, with Mary Ann, joined the WI Czechs in 1991. Joel served a term as vice-president in 2010 and contributed much energy to the group by bringing in Cz choral and musical groups and speakers for programs. He and Mary Ann hosted Czechoslovak exchange students, teachers and introduced us to his musical families. Proud of his Czech heritage, he taught us much. Sally Teresinski, historian”
