He was predeceased by: his parents, Norvin Mikkelson and Lila Mikkelson (Holmes); his siblings-in-law, Cheryl Mikkelson and John Boland; his great-nephew Carter Stovey; and his wife Kristy Mikkelson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lonnie Mikkelson, Marilyn Nemec (Ernest), Mary Olson (Rolland) and Cathy Boland; and his nieces and nephews, Dan Mikkelson, Loren Mikkelson, Duane Mikkelson (Lu), Sheri Cartwright, Craig Stovey (Heidi), Chad Stovey (Heidi), Shawna Koch (Nick), Cory Stovey (Jen), Wade Olson (Erika), Sara Olson, Andy Olson (Amy), Kurt Olson (Laura) and Kelsey Foley (Mike). He is also survived by 17 great-nieces and nephews; a great-great-niece and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church Cemetery Association or the Ferryville First Responders.
