He was predeceased by: his parents, Jens Leirmo and Agnes Leirmo (Emerson); his former wife Clara Munson; his daughter Sigrid; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Smith, Eldon Munson and Olene Munson.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn (Lee); his sons, John (Cindy) and Olaf (Lisa Iverson-Leirmo); his grandchildren, Michael (Elizabeth), Jason, Andrew (Tiffany), Ellery and Olivia; his great grandchildren, Jens, Danika of Pasen, J. J. and Avery; and his sister Lorraine Smith.
