He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgilio DeMelo and Ana DeMelo (Reis); and his siblings, Manuel, Jacinto, Natalia, Jose Luis DeMelo and Clementina Carreiro.
He is survived by: his spouse Gilda DeMelo (Adolfo); his children, Paul DeMelo (Marlene) of Swansea, Dora Camara (Carlos) of Lakeville, Ana DeMelo (Eric) of Fall River and Susan DeMelo of Fall River; his siblings, Januario DeMelo, Olga Cardoso and Joao DeMelo; his grandchildren, Korynn Thompson, Ashley Raposo, Vanessa Martins, Colby DeMelo, Nathan Heald, Rockell Cyr, Ethan DeMelo and Billy Heald; and his great grandchild Findley Brown. He is also survived by great grandchildren due this summer as well as many nieces and nephews.
