It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Edward Janes (Evansville, Wisconsin), born in Hinsdale, Illinois, who passed away on May 8, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Janes and Alma Janes (Rasmussen); his wife Ruth L. Thorsen; his brother Don Janes; and his siblings-in-law, Walter Klemp, Bob Thorsen, Jeanice Janes and Mary Lou Thorsen.
He is survived by: his sons, Rod (Jan) of Darien, Dan (Michelle) of Evansville, Ken (Kaye) of Wooster and Bob (Cheryl) of Evansville; his grandchildren, Heather Wagner (Nate), Jake, Emilie Glindinning (David), Wade (Rachel), Amanda Morton (Justin), Ashley, Allison (Evan Hershberger), Parker (Amanda), Lauren Bjugstad (Tom) and Brooke; his great grandchildren, Finnley, Ashlynn, Hadley, J. D., Alyvia, Claire and Elliott; his sister Janette Klemp of Edgerton; and his siblings-in-law, Leo Thorsen and Joanne Thorsen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice or St. John's Lutheran Church, Evansville.
