He was predeceased by: his parent Raphael; his wife Joyce Ann Hitchcock; his sister Betty Lou Polley; his children-in-law, Dale Sperry and Norma Jean Short; his grandson Christopher Thorland; and his nephew Robb Polley.
He is survived by: his children, Toni Sperry of Evansville, Stephen of Evansville, Donald Short of Evansville, Thomas Short (Theresa) of Albany, WI. and Denise Burns (Todd) of Escondido, CA.; his grandchildren, Melissa Sperry (Rusty Thompson), Sarah Short, Anthony Burns (Roberta), Ryne Burns (Hahn), Jacob Short (Krystal) and Jessica Short; his niece Ann Marie Parrella (Michael); and his nephew Douglas Polley.
