He was predeceased by: his parents, James Casperson and Lena Casperson (Severson); and his siblings, Gloria (Paul Olson) and Luverne Caspersen. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Johnson of Winthrop, Minnesota.; his adoptive children, Lisa Caspersen of Eau Claire, WI and Earl Caspersen (Karla) of Arnold, MO; his sister Donna Mortensen (Hartvig) of Luck, WI; and also, Dellinger and Gabriel.
