It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Jacob Shimshak (Ettrick, Wisconsin), born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathilda Shimshak (Thesing) and Joseph Shimshak; and his siblings, Audrey Larkin, Mildred Shimshak, William Shimshak (Stella), Kathleen Beck and Mary Sharlow (William).
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Byom; his children, Jeremiah Shimshak and Wendy; his son-in-law David Longtin; his granddaughter Elliot Longtin; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Beck, Duane, Roxie Byom and Kathy Beirne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
