He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hyer and Sophie Hyer (Vedum); his son Michael Hyer; and his siblings, John Hyer, Joan (Philip Muth) and Meryle (Roy Ehlert).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Hyer; his children, Annette Bender, Sherry Reno (Lee), Brian Hyer (Jamie), Kristine Shawley (Jason) and Laurie Tran (Hung); his grandchildren, Richard, Lucas, Matt, Megan, Paige, Dane, Kate, Jack, Lindsay, Brandon, Ella and Jace; his great grandchild Ava; and his sister-in-law Shirley Hyer. He is also survived by other relatives and dear friends.
