He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hanlon and Violet Hanlon; his siblings, John Hanlon (Louise), Eileen Doherty (John), Amy Robare (Cy) and Robert Hanlon (Amy Fae); and his son-in-law Robert Philipp.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Philipp, Brian Hanlon (Sheri), Peggy Bley (Tom), Jim Hanlon (Paula), Ned Hanlon, Sally Sullivan, Jack Hanlon (Heidi Pabst) and Liz Fehring (Larry). He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
