With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Erwin Carl Hitzeman Jr. of Ellison Bay, Wisconsin, born in Elmhurst, Illinois, who passed away on October 6, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Carl Hitzeman, Sr. and Alice Linnea Hitzeman (Thylander); his grandson Gavin Thomas; and his sister Carol Weinbauer Ernest (Robert). He is survived by: his children, Erv, Carolyn and Wheaton; his pets, Trisket and Oreana; his wife Carolyn Jean Unser; his children, Steven (Teresa) of Green Bay, Brent (Camilla) of Ellison Bay, Reid (Heidi) of Baileys Harbor and Holly Thomas (Joel) of Sister Bay; his grandchildren, Tyler, Neal Hitzeman, Theodore, Ava, Jackson Hitzeman, Madeline, Alexander Hitzeman, Payton and Kenzie Thomas; and his siblings, John Hitzeman (Betty) of Navasota, TX and Susan Mikulecky (John) of Naperville, IL. He is also survived by other relatives; and dear friends.

Memorials may be given in Erv's name for Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, Peninsula Music Festival, or Door County Land Trust.
