He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth (Moyer) and Evenlyn Gardiner (Brown); his brother Donald Gardiner; his brother-in-law Harley Pellmann; his sons-in-law, William Fleck and John Terpstra; and his great grandchildren, Benjamin and William Baumeister.

He is survived by: his wife Orlene G. Pellmann; his daughters, Pamela Woodrich of Sharon, WI, Penny Terpstra-Vogel (Charlie) of Elkhorn, WI and Peggy Fleck (Bill) of Delavan, WI; his grandchildren, Kelly Schmig (Steve), Jolene Baumeister (Dan), Kurtis Woodrich (Jennifer), Daniel Terpstra, Terry Terpstra (Stacy), Sara Gabor (James) and Lucas Fleck (Rebecca); his great grandchildren, Jacob, Addison Schmig, Christopher, Trudy, Carysn Ostrander, Emily, Hailey, Kenzly Woodrich, Patrick, Aurianna, Nicholas Terpstra, Matilyn, Paige, Michael and Brooke Terpstra; his sister-in-law Phyllis Pellmann; and his close friends, Jan Burnette and Cheryl Noss. He is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
