He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sister Betty (Kelly); his parents, William Umland and Rena Umland (Burmaster); his wife Shirley (Purcell); his children, Diane Zaitz (Kent), David Umland and Daniel Umland (Anette); his grandchildren, Andrew Umland (Darisha), Bradford Umland, Ashley Umland, Justin Zaitz (Kristen), Danielle Hanson (Brody) and Jared Umland; and his great grandchildren, Chase Umland, Aiden Robertson, Caleb Umland, Avery, Luke, Ethan Umland, Tahlia and Zane Zaitz.
