He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Pappa and Catherine "Nina" G. Pappa (Garretto); and his brother William Pappa III. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Schubert-Eppers; his stepdaughter Jill Marie Eppers-Hominick; his grandchildren, Ashley Marie Millar and Keller Alan Hominick; his brother Peter Pappa; his sister-in-law Janet Pappa; his nephew William Pappa (Kristy); and his nieces, Stephanie Steward (Kai) and Catherine Osterholz (Christopher). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made in Joe's name to Lakeland Animal Shelter PO Box 1000 Elkhorn, WI 53121.
