He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvanus "Vene" Lauderdale and Cora Lauderdale (Davis); his daughter Margaret Hayden (Bruce); his wife Leona Dorn; and his grandson Jeff Howard.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Howard (Roger), Richard Lauderdale (Sharon), Jane Schaaf (Kevin) and Gene Lauderdale (Patty); and his grandchildren, Beth, Kris, Mike, Brian, Curt, Jim, Matt, Andy, Mark, Alex, Dan, Garrett, Laura and Eva. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in George's name to: First Evangelical Church or the charity of donor's choice.

“God’s blessings and deepest sympathies to George’s family! We were just wondering about George last Friday, March 17, because our mother, Beatrice would have been 99 years old then! We have fond memories of the Lauderdales visiting us at the Dorn farm and vice versa during the 1960s and 70s etc….and of course, throughout the years visiting at the Walworth County Fair! How nice that we all have the Love and Grace of our Savior Jesus! Greg & Lori Dorn”
