It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Essig (Elkhorn, Wisconsin), born in Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on May 2, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Leitner and Elsie Leitner (Spiegler); her husband Charles "Chuck"; and her daughter Patricia Lawrence. She is survived by: her sons, Charles "Chip" Essig (Mary Beth) of Carol Stream, IL and Thomas Manley of Woodstock, IL; her brother Richard Leitner of Rice Lake, WI; her grandchildren, Kurtis Lawrence (Bre) of Oakland, AK, Jessica Piccolo (Kris) of Highwood, IL and Kelly Essig of Carol Stream, IL; and her niece Janet Krahenbuhl. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
