He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Smith and Marie Smith (Baumeister); and his sister Janice Twing. He is survived by: his children, Gary Smith (Christie) of Oregon and Gaye Gilbert (David) of Idaho; his grandchildren, Reece Gilbert, Hannah Roberts (Michael) and Sydney Gilbert; and his sister Beverly Skilling of Florida.
