Francis John Feider Obituary
Francis John Feider, 85, formerly of Elkhart Lake and Plymouth, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 9 at Lumia Mequon Assisted Living and Memory Care, where he had been a resident for 16 months.
The visitation will be held at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W. Mequon Road, Mequon, on Friday, January 24 at 10:00 am, followed by 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. A luncheon will follow in St. James Hall at the parish. Interment will be at Saint Nicholas Cemetery, Dacada, at a later date.
Francis was born on March 30, 1939 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to J.P. Feider and Annie (Lauras) Feider. He married Sharon Lee Schaffner on May 23, 1964 in Glendale, WI. She survives. Francis is also survived by his children; sons Doug (Dee) Feider Reed, Mercer, WI; Jared (Candice) Feider, Cedarburg, WI, and Jason (Jessica) Feider, Cornelius, NC; daughter Angela (James) Rozak, Glen Ellyn, Illinois; grandchildren, Rachel Reed (Chris Prescott), Jody (Tyler) Tomann, Jacob (Meg) Reed, Adam Rozak, Natalie Rozak, Will Rozak, Riley Feider, Gabe Feider, Ben Feider, Parker Feider, Elliott Feider, Olivia Feider; great grandchildren, Cameron Prescott, Maddison Tomann, Jack Tomann; and sister Mary (Joe) Kirklewski, Grafton.
Preceding Francis in death were his parents, J.P. and Annie Feider; brothers, James, Robert, Dr. Arnold (the late Lucille); Leon; Elmer (Marion), Wilmer (the late Marella), Joseph (the late Elaine), and Anthony (Loretta) Feider; sisters, Sr. Mary Helen Feider, Bernice Feider, Dolores (the late Oscar) Schmidt; Margaret (the late Marvin) Mueller, and Helen (the late Ray) Schultz.
Francis attended St. Nicholas Parochial school in Dacada and Random Lake High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves. Francis worked for several years as a machinist for Bolens Outdoor Power Equipment in Port Washington. At the same time, he completed night courses to obtain his real estate license. Francis was the founder of Town and Country Realty, serving Sheboygan and surrounding counties for over 40 years. With his booming voice, he was a gifted auctioneer, further assisting his clients. He expanded into property development, providing additional housing opportunities to many in the area. He was very active and well known throughout the community.
Francis was extremely proud to celebrate his Luxembourg heritage and was able to visit the country in 2016 and by becoming a Luxembourg citizen in 2021. He enjoyed Kiwanis club activities, golf, island travel with family and friends, lake life in Elkhart Lake and Clintonville, Packer games, live music, holiday celebrations, bowling, poker games, and most importantly, caring for his loved ones. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, community member, and friend! The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Lumia Mequon and Horizon Hospice for the wonderful care that Francis received at the end of his journey.
