He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Nicolaus and Ruth Nicolaus (LaBudde); and his brother-in-law Ronald Lautenbach. He is survived by: his wife Lynnellen; his children, Rhonda Bohrmueller (Warren) of Parnell, Crystal Schenian (Scott) of Menchalville and Gordon Nicolaus (Richelle) of Lyndon Station; his granddaughters, Raelynn Smith (Dylan), Ericka Bohrmueller, Tabatha Lindle (Jordan), Mallary Schenian (Kelley Schmidt) and Leelu Nicolaus; his great grandchildren, Jonah, Eliza, Harper, Hannah, Everhett, Marlaina and Magdalynn; his brother Mark Nicolaus (Jane) of Montana; and his brother-in-law Dennis Lautenbach (Karen) of Elkhart Lake. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Nick's name to Grace Lutheran Church are preferred.
