He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Root and Olive Root; his daughter Nancy; and his sister Blanche Lyons. He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Jerome; and his children, Harold (Jayne), Jerry, Cory, Patsy King (Mike), Karen Root, Donna Tody (Dan), Joyce Jackson (Harold Jr.) and Vicki Haskell (Heath). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
