He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon and Marietta; and his siblings, Leroy, Bruce, Dennis, Shirley and Bonnie.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Emerson; his children, Shawn Shafer, Anthony Shafer and Aleasha Brown; his grandchildren, Logan Rollins, Riley Shafer and Eclipse Brown; and his siblings, David Shafer (Charlotte), Ann Newman, Joseph Shafer (Dorene) and Linda Baugher (Bruce). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
