He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Alf and Cora Alf (Wold); his brothers, John and Donald; and his sister-in-law Jean.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Mae; his children, Kathleen Seffens (Clark), Ivan Alf (Chery), Diane Haigh (Greg), Kevin Alf (Sara) and Stacy Belmore; his grandchildren, Jessica Seffens, Lucus Seffens, Cody Haigh (Marissa Wallace), Dana White (David), Candace Haigh (Todd), Brandon Belmore (Meaghan), Noelle Belmore, Joshua Belmore (Khloe Spors), Isaac Knutson and Cashton Knutson; and his sister-in-law Shirley Alf. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, Goodwin would ask memorials to be made in his name to the music department and elevator fund at Eleva Lutheran Church.
