He was predeceased by: his parents, Corlis Welch and Ella Welch (Marshall); and his son Brian Welch. He is survived by: his wife Janet Space; his sons, Brett Welch (Julie), LaCrosse and Chad Welch (Kori); his grandchildren, Ellie, Anna, Brook and Kyleigh; and also Marilyn Binder.

“Hello Welch family, this is Don Walsh (Brian’s friend from UW Platteville) sorry to hear about Russel’s passing. Your dad, your home and the people from Elcho will always hold a special place in my heart. I don’t know how to put this??!?….but I kinda lost something as a young man in Russel’s home at a house party….don’t bother looking, you won’t find it. To this very day, I can still picture and hear Brian’s voice like it was yesterday! I know I’ll see him again…and Russel❤️ 414-403-5334”
