He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Eggerstaffer and Blanche Eggerstaffer (Berg); and his nephew Michael. He is survived by: his wife Kristi Rosenow; his sons, Jeremy Hefty (Kassara Kirker), Trevor Hefty and Travis Hefty; his grandchildren, Kyler, Kiara Hefty and Evan; his brothers, Duane Hefty, Larry Hefty (Rita) and Jeff Hefty; and his nieces and nephews, Tori and Dylan Hefty.
