He was predeceased by: his parents, August Spittlemeister and Bertha Spittlemeister (Volkmann). He is survived by: his wife Dolores Prust; his daughters, Terri Hanke (David) and Sherry Lauder; his grandchildren, Camren Doherty (Kyle), Christopher Lauder (Amy) and Craig Lauder; and his great grandchildren, Logan Lauder, Ryan, Gavin Doherty, Johann and Olivia Lauder.

Memorials may be directed to the church in his name.
