He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Peterson and Myrtle Peterson (Duerst); his brother Terry; and his in-laws, George and Bessie Peterson.

He is survived by: his sons, Peter of Egg Harbor and Jeremy Dart (Taylor) of Green Bay; his granddaughter Lizzie; his daughter Penni Lewis (Paul) of Las Vegas; his grandchild Apollo; his sisters, Linda Hoffmann (David) of Luxemburg and Kris Richardson (Howard) of Algoma; and his close friend Fred Entringer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
