He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Howard and Vada Thalacker (Dolen); his grandson David A. Benitez-Thalacker; and his nephew Mark William Thalacker. He is survived by: his children, Brett Bertrand, Krystal Hope Thalacker and Garrett Edwin; his grandchildren, Oliva Vada Thalacker, Emmanuel Thalacker and Mikaylee Cunningham; and his siblings, Thomas Thalacker (Zhaojun), Sharon Benninghoff (Timothy), Linda Pearson (Ivan), Diane Miesner (Fred) and Debra Hein (Marty). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
