He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Wirkus and Rose Wirkus (Goldbach); his wife Alvina Hall; and his siblings, George, Dave, Philip, Ed, Joanne Pettinger, Marge White, Till Reed, Bernadine Wirkus and Vangie Wilichowski.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Wirkus (Edgar), Roger Wirkus, Marge Michalski (Jim) and John Wirkus (Edgar); his granddaughter Barb Brehm (Doug); his great grandchildren, Simon and Everet; his grandchildren, Kelly Bauman (Tom) and Tim Michalski (Laura); his great grandchildren, Spencer and Lizzie; his granddaughter Kimberly Henning (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Landon and Harper; his granddaughter Megan Gudex (Ben); his brothers, Mel Wirkus of Clinton, WI and Lawrence Wirkus (Joan); and his sisters-in-law, Delphine Wadzinski, Catherine Myszka and Jeanette LaPean.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. John's Catholic Church or St. John's Catholic School, in Edgar, WI.
